Art, Design, Fashion and Photography

Our thriving Art, Design, Fashion and Photography department is right in the middle of the city’s Creative Quarter. You’ll study at our City campus, in the heart of the historic Lace Market – a blend of old and new with plenty to inspire your creative streak.

We’ve got great connections with some of the big names in the industry - you could be working with the likes of Paul Smith, Trend Boutique, Quantum Clothing, The New Fat, Studio Output and Speedo International to name a few.

Many of our former students are successful and nationally-renowned makers, designers and business owners - we’ve got a strong track record in supporting our students to reach their full potential. Our graduates have gone on to top design jobs, including working for companies like Paul Smith, Hyundai, Diesel Jeans, George at Asda and Pendragon PLC.

You could have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in national competitions and exhibitions such as New Designers, UK Young Designers and Worldskills
  • Travel and explore the fashion capitals as part of our Fashion FdA - fancy travelling to Paris, Florence, Barcelona, Milan, London or Berlin?
  • Meet industry professionals and guest speakers, all looking to share their years of industry experience
  • Exhibit your work in a final end of year show to the public, talent scouts and industry experts - a great reward for the hard work you put in and a chance to showcase your talent!
