IT for Improvers — Part-time

Course outline

This is a follow on course from the IT for Beginners.

This course will build on the skills and knowledge learnt on the IT for Beginners course.

You will explore the common types of software in more depth and practice what you have learnt.

On this course, you will learn:

  • Microsoft Office
  • File management
  • Formatting and Editing
  • Internet and email
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Basic maths and English including grammar and punctuation
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Fundamental British Values, Safeguarding and Prevent

The course will continue to build your confidence and will be tailored to your needs.

Entry requirements

You must be aged 19+ and have a good standard of English as you will be required to complete a short workbook with the help of your tutor.

Teaching & assessment

Tutors will give regular verbal and written feedback. You will be required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and encouraged to set your own personal targets as part of this course.

Progression

There may be opportunities to progress onto other courses both in the community and at Nottingham College sites.
