Nottingham College salon joins local businesses for Halloween fun

Families wanting to have “a spooktacular” half term filled with haunting activity can join a special Halloween Trail this week – and have the chance of winning a grand prize.

Nottingham College’s Salon Central is joining 10 other independent businesses in the city to create a “scary trail” along Wheeler Gate, Hounds Gate and Friar Gate.

Launched by Café Sobar and The Treat Kitchen, the exciting action packed week will run from Monday 23 October until Friday 27 October, enabling children and adults alike to be guided around the fun trail in the vibrant area of the city.

Kirsty Layton, Salon Co-ordinator at Salon Central said:

“We really encourage lovers of all things Halloween to take part in this exciting event, which will be a chance for families to spend time together, meet new people participating in the trail and even better…have the chance to win a huge prize!

“We are thrilled to join the other like-minded businesses who like us are keen to come together to create themed community activities that can be enjoyed by many!”

Participants will be asked to collect a number and a letter from each participating business venue, to reveal a secret Halloween phrase and will be able to have their faces painted along the way.

Once completed, they will be entered into a grand prize draw, with the winner announced at an event held at Café Sobar on 27 October.

The other businesses taking part in the event are:

•    The Treat Kitchen
•    Café Sobar
•    The Speciality Coffee Shop
•    Warhammer
•    Forbidden Planet
•    No 12 Hounds Gate
•    Chocolate Utopia
•    Igloo Hostels
•    La Mistral
•    Pure Aesthetics

Jason Loftus, from Café Sobar said:

“The Halloween trail is in an area of Nottingham City Centre which is thriving with quirky independent businesses, that is very family friendly.

“By working together as a team, it gives us the opportunity to give the people of Nottingham a truly fantastic Trick or Treat trail throughout Half Term.”

“The closing event will be perfect for all the family with face painting, storytelling and even a pumpkin carving competition. Expect an evening of music, magic and mystical mayhem.”

Jodie Baker at The Treat Kitchen added:

“ It’s great to have the trail across such a thriving area offering exciting retail, dining and beauty experiences, that we feel will be more attractive to everyone taking part.

“All participants need to do is follow the map to collect a number and letter from each venue.
Why not say Trick or Treat to a member of staff and you might be in for a surprise!”

Official maps are now available to collect from any of the participating venues this week.
