Creative 122 set to open by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham

A shop selling creative items made by ncn staff and students will open to the public on Wednesday 10th May, at an official launch event at ncn City campus in The Lace Market.

The circus-themed event, which has been organised by ncn Business students as part of their university-level course, will kick-start with the Lord Mayor cutting the ribbon at 12.30pm. The event will follow with a variety of stalls, games and entertainment for the public to enjoy, including a performance from talented ncn music student Lauren March who will be singing a variety of popular music from the likes of Adele, Cher, The Beatles, Motown, and Gnarls Barkley.

Based in the Lace Market entrance of ncn City Adams Building, Creative 122 will initially open from 12-2pm, Tuesdays to Thursdays and will sell everything from artwork to accessories, birthday cards to fashion garments, jewellery to CDs, and even handmade guitars made from vintage cigar boxes and biscuit tins.

The idea for the shop came from ncn Fashion Lecturer Kathy Steadman, who wanted to create a platform for staff and students to showcase their work. She said: “I see so much talent working at the college and I wanted to give my students and colleagues the opportunity to showcase this to the public. It’s great experience and fantastic exposure for the amazing work they produce both at college and in their free time. I’m really excited for the launch event and I’m even more excited to see how the shop evolves.”

If you’re interested in submitting your work to sell in the shop, simply email with details.
