Entry requirementsAll students must:

* Pass an assessment test as part of the interview
* As a guide, be able to work at a level equivalent to GCSE Maths and English at grades A-E
* Be aged between 16 and 24 years
* Work 16 hours or more each week in a chosen qualification-related area
* Not be on any other training programme
* Not be attending any other college or university
* Not hold a degree
* Have lived in the UK for the past three years

ContentThis course consists of the following:

* Wood Occupations CITB/City & Guilds NVQ Level 2
* Technical Certificate in Bench & Site Joinery Diploma Level 2
* Key Skills - Communication & Application of Number Level 1 (unless exempt)
* Health & Safety
* Employment Responsibilities & Rights
Assessment MethodPractical and theory work are continually assessed throughout the qualification by the tutor at college and the workplace.

Students are required to keep a portfolio of evidence generated in the work place to meet the criteria of requirements set for each individual mandatory and optional unit of the qualification.

Other DetailsTools and materials, workshop space and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided by the college during study.
