College Sustainablity Group

Terms of Reference:

The Green College Nottingham group is a forum in which to discuss all kinds of environmental issues, with particular focus on what we can do as a College to improve our green credentials and reduce our carbon footprint. We have a series of targets that we want to achieve over the next 12 months which include:

• Devise and implement new environmental policies across the College
• Work with staff and students to follow through on initiatives to grow the green brand
• Take ownership of a bespoke Carbon Reduction Plan for ncn
• Undertake a full evaluation of energy consumption across the estates portfolio and identify both energy and cost savings
• Promote the work of the group and educate staff and students about what the College is doing to meet its environmental obligations

Longer term strategy:

• Explore new technology and government supported initiatives and seek to bid for funding for green development projects
• Grow the College’s profile with external partners and expand ncn’s representation on regional sustainability groups
• Promote and position ncn as a centre of excellence

There are two meetings per term

We welcome any ideas from staff and students on things they would like us to look into and we also have an FAQ section where you can find lots of information and can submit additional questions if you can’t find what you are looking for.
