Case Study: Job seekers retrain to gain pathway to employment
Helen Towle and Claire Coxon
celebrate
completing their course
ncn has been running a series of skills courses, to help the unemployed retrain and get back into the workforce.
Courses in Retail, Health & Social Care, Business, Hospitality & Catering and Construction are available, as well as many more.
21-year-old Claire Coxon and Helen Towle, 26, have completed a 12-week work focussed training programme in Health and Social Care. Claire has since been offered a job at Hawthorne Nursing Home in Bestwood Village and Helen is currently on a work trial at Ivy Leaf Care Home, Carlton.
Claire comments: “It was a really daunting experience coming back to college but I was pleasantly surprised to see others in the same situation as me. My confidence had been knocked whilst looking for work but everyone at ncn were really supportive and I now can’t wait to get started in my new job.”
