At ncn, we understand how important it is to have somewhere suitable to live when you are studying overseas, many miles away from home.

For this reason, we will do all in our power to help you find the accommodation which best suits your needs. Basically there are three types of accommodation you can choose.

Homestay

Perhaps the best way to learn about life in the UK and be able to practice English is to live with a British family in what is called homestay accommodation. This should be arranged before you arrive in Nottingham. Homestay currently costs £110 per week if you share family meals (full-catering) and £75 per week if you buy and prepare your own food (self-catering). If homestay is what you want, you should complete a homestay accommodation application form and return it to the International Office.

Student Halls

Although ncn does not have its own halls of residence, Nottingham has plenty of residential student accommodation run by private companies. ncn cannot book this accommodation for you. You must do this yourself.

You can get details of prices etc. and download an application form from their websites. The ones in the city centre are very popular and fill up quickly.

When you are comparing prices, check the contract period i.e. the number of weeks in the year you must pay for (which is often more than the number of weeks you will be resident there).

Private rented housing

New College Nottingham works with Unipol Student Homes, who can provide you with online property vacancies and advice and information about living in the private rented sector in Nottingham.
