ncn High Pavement Sixth Form College policy is that all students have 100% attendance unless we receive an authorised absence.
Attendance is monitored electronically and students will be seen by their Personal Tutor if problems with attendance occur. Should there be no improvement you will be contacted. Our courses are full and demanding and missing lessons will inevitably lead to serious problems in understanding the work. All the available research shows us that excellent attendance is a big factor in excellent A/AS level results. Once a student begins to fall behind it is difficult to catch up and it is worth remembering that your daughter/son will be with us for a relatively short time anyway. So any time missed will have serious consequences.

If your daughter or son is an EMA student, please state this when informing us of their absence.
Punctuality:
Students are expected to be punctual. If students are not present at the beginning of the class they will miss that class. They will be expected to catch up on work missed and persistent lateness may result in disciplinary proceedings
Holidays
Can we stress, in particular, holidays should not be booked during term time. If students need to miss college for any reason, for example, to attend funerals or move house, please discuss this with your daughter/son's personal tutor so that we can make arrangements for any work missed. An 'Absent from College Form' will need to be completed and agreed by the Head of College.
