- At least Grade C in GCSE Science.
Course Content
This course focuses on environmental issues, such as climate change and the conflicts between exploitation and conservation.
2 units at 'AS' Level:
- The Living Environment: wildlife conservation, life processes, and land resources and exploitation
- The Physical Environment: the atmosphere, aquatic environments, and the earth's crust (minerals, elements and nutrients)
Hands-on experience of fieldwork is an essential part of the course: day visits and local studies will be integrated into the programme.
Assessment
Examinations in January and June.
Aims & Ambitions
A Higher Education course in environmental sciences, geology or ecology, or a career in a science related area.
