Entry Requirements
'AS':
- At least Grade C in GCSE English, plus an interest in dance.
'A2':
- At least Grade E in 'AS' Dance. Grade D is preferred.
An audition/interview is required and will include a dance performance and workshop. Students will need to bring appropriate dance clothing for group workshops.
Course Content
2 units at 'AS' Level, including:
- Solo Choreography and Performance in a trio
- Understanding Dance - written examination paper on safe practice in the dance studio and questions on choreography and works in repertoire
2 units at 'A2' Level, including:
- Choreography of a Group Dance and performance of a set piece
- Appreciation: Content and Context - written examination paper on all aspects of dance practice and questions on two set works.
The department has strong links with the Nottingham Playhouse, the Nottingham Arts Theatre, the Lace Market Theatre and Nottingham Theatre Royal.
Assessment
A combination of examinations and written and practical coursework.

A Higher Education course in dance or teaching or a career in one of these areas.
