Entry Requirements
'AS':
- At least Grade C in GCSE English Language and/or English Literature, Grade B is preferred.
'A2':
- At least Grade E in 'AS' English Literature, Grade D is preferred.
Course Content
2 units at 'AS' Level, including:
- Aspects of Narrative: the ways in which texts work and reader responses
- Aspects of Genre: the dramatic genre studied will be tragedy
2 units at 'A2' Level, including:
- The Significance of Genre: elements of the Gothic
- Further and independent reading and the introduction of critical ideas
Throughout the course students will be encouraged to attend theatre productions of the texts studied and to watch film versions of set and related texts.

Examinations and coursework.
