Entry Requirements
'AS':
- At least Grade C in GCSE Art and Design and have an interest in this subject. Applicants without this GCSE will be required to present a simple portfolio of 10–15 photographic images at interview stage.
'A2':
- At least Grade E in 'AS' Photography.
Course Content
Experimental and practical in approach, this course is designed to build on skills already gained. Areas of study include history of photography (equipment, materials, photographers and photographic movements), general photographic theory, darkroom skills for black and white photography, digital photography, using Photoshop and photographic contextual studies.
2 units at 'AS' Level, including:
- Coursework - two assignments supported by developmental work
- Controlled Assignment
3 units at 'A2' Level, including:
- Coursework - a major assignment, supported by developmental work and a sketchbook.
- Personal Investigation - visual and other recordings of and responses to different artists' work by theme, style or time period
- Controlled Assignment
Assessment
A combination of coursework, personal investigation and a controlled test.
