This course can also be studied as an intensive one-year programme for students aged 18+.

Entry Requirements
'AS':
- At least Grade C in GCSE English.
'A2':
- At least Grade E in 'AS' History of Art.
Course Content
2 units at 'AS' Level, including:
- Methodology and Terminology of Art History: setting the visual arts in their social, cultural and historical contexts; visual analysis and interpretation
- Materials and Techniques used to Create Art: the ways in which subjects are interpreted and the styles and functions of art. Historical and social contexts; including patronage and the changing status of the artist
2 units at 'A2' Level, including:
- The Study of a Prescribed Period of Western Painting, Sculpture and Architecture: areas covered include: materials and techniques, changing social, cultural and economic contexts, subject matter and function
- Further Study of a Prescribed Period in the History of Western Art

Examinations.

A Higher Education course in the humanities, museum studies, conservation etc. or a career in one of these areas.
