- At least Grade C in GCSE Art and Design, Graphics or Design.
'A2':
- At least Grade D in 'AS' Art: Graphic Communication/ Graphic Design
Course Content
For students who have an interest, but not necessarily experience in graphics. You will work to a brief and produce designs for commercial applications to include advertising, packaging, logos/corporate identity, information graphics, magazine design and illustration.
2 units at 'AS' Level, including:
- Coursework Portfolio – A portfolio of work from a range of starting points, topics or themes.
- Controlled Assignment – plan, prepare and develop ideas in a 5 hour exam.
2 units at 'A2' Level, including:
- Personal Investigation – A major project identified by the student including a related personal study of 3,000 words.
- Controlled Assignment – Plan, prepare and realise ideas into a final outcome in a 15 hour exam.
Assessment
A combination of examinations and coursework.

A Higher Education course in graphic design or advertising or a career in one of these areas.
