Art and Design courses are housed in the ncn Lace Market School of Art, Design, Fashion and Media opposite the Adams Building, creating a focused creative environment. There is plenty of spacious, well-lit workspace with 3D workshops, a ceramics studio, a photographic studio and darkrooms, printmaking facilities, a machine workshop and impressive gallery space.
Students have access to a Mac suite, with 22 eMac work stations and up-to-date software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Premiere. The College also provides scanners, printers, digital cameras and video equipment.
At ncn City (Adams), Media and Multimedia students have access to a purpose-built television studio, a professional standard radio station, multimedia computing areas, and analogue video editing suites. Training in professional broadcasting software such as Selector is available and there are well-established links with several broadcasters. We have invested in new video production equipment with digital non-linear editing suites using a range of software including Avid Xpress, Discreet Combustion and Adobe After Effects.
