Course fees for new students starting a higher education programme in 2012/13 are listed below. When considering course fees it is important to bear in mind that many students will be entitled to a student loan to cover the full cost of their tuition and support towards maintenance costs.
Foundation Degree programmes undertaken full-time will be £5750 for a full academic year
Higher National Certificate undertaken full-time will be £5750 for a full academic year.
Top-up Degree courses undertaken full-time will be £5750* for a full academic year.
* Important Note for BA (Hons) Top-up Students
Students who have studied a Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) and are topping-up to a BA (Hons) Degree in the 2012/13 academic session without any gap in their study (except the summer break) and in the same subject area, will be classed as studying an ‘end-on’ course, and therefore will be classed as old regime for student finance purposes. This means a lower tuition fee will apply. Students in this situation will continue under the previous student finance system. For further details please contact your national student finance service.
This scenario should also apply to students who started a Foundation Degree or HND in 2011/12 and wish to top-up in the 2013/14 academic session. For further information and for eligibility criteria please contact your national student finance service.
For information about part-time higher education fees, please contact the Higher Education Team directly.
The fees outlined above will apply equally to United Kingdom and European Union students. International students should contact the International Office for further details about international courses.
