Special Support Bursary

Many students are eligible to receive payments from our Special Support Bursary scheme. Find out more about it!

The financial aspect of studying an Higher Education course is very important. The amount of support available and tuition fees will depend on the programme you choose to study and whether you study full or part-time. It may also depend on personal factors such as your household income.

Course Fees

Course fees for new students starting a higher education programme in 2010/11 are as follows:

Foundation Degree programmes undertaken full-time will be £2600 for a full academic year

Higher National Certificate undertaken full-time will be £2600 for a full academic year.

Top-up Degree courses undertaken full-time will be £2600 for a full academic year.

For information about part-time higher education fees, please contact the Higher Education Team directly.

The fees outlined above will apply equally to United Kingdom and European Union students. International students contact the International Office for further details about international course fees.

Current ncn Higher Education students who started their programme in September 2009 or earlier should contact the Higher Education Team for details of the relevant tuition fees and bursary support available for the next academic year.

Higher Education Student Funding

Prospective students from England should contact Student Finance England as soon as possible to obtain details of the funding that is available.

Students can find out more and apply online at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance, or by calling 0845 300 50 90. Full-time students can apply online for student support. However, part-time students will need to request a paper-based application form from Student Finance England.

Students from Wales, North Ireland or Scotland should contact their national student finance service:

Students from other EU countries can find out about financial support for tuition fees on the DirectGov website.

Helen Lucas, ncn's HE Welfare and Finance adviser, will be pleased to answer any queries once you have contacted the above and obtained the relevant information.

Once you have enrolled at ncn you may be eligible for additional financial assistance through the Access to Learning Fund if you run into financial difficulties.

Special Support Bursary

ncn offers additional, non-repayable financial support through the Special Support Bursary. The amount of support available will depend on your personal situation.

The ncn Special Support Bursary is only available to full-time higher education students. In order to be considered, applications must be received by the deadline.
