• BA/BSc – Bachelor of Arts/Science

• Clearing – a service put in place in order to help people without a university or college place to find suitable vacancies on higher education courses

• FE - Further Education
• Foundation Degree - Foundation Degrees are higher education qualifications that are one level below honours degree

• HE – Higher Eductaion
• HEFCE - Higher Education Funding Council for England
• HNC - Higher National Certificate
• HND - Higher National Diploma
• Honours degree - A bachelor's degree with honours is covering greater depth than a general or ordinary BA or BSc degree

• PGCE - Postgraduate certificate in education

• UCAS - Universities and Colleges Admissions Service
• Undergraduate - Student working towards a first degree, higher education certificate or diploma
