Art and Design courses are housed in the ncn Lace Market School of Art, Design, Fashion and Media opposite the Adams Building, creating a focused creative environment. There is plenty of spacious, well-lit workspace with 3D workshops, a ceramics studio, a photographic studio and darkrooms, printmaking facilities, a machine workshop and impressive gallery space.
Students have access to a multimedia suite, with 22 multimedia computers and up-to-date software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Premiere and Dreamweaver. The College also provides scanners, printers, digital cameras and video equipment.
Fashion courses are held in the Adams Building (ncn City), an historic lace mill with excellent design, pattern cutting and manufacturing facilities. Students also have use of ncn’s multimedia computers and have access to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Gerber Technology software for design, fashion drawings, pattern cutting and grading.
At ncn City (Adams), Media and Multimedia students have access to a purpose-built television studio, a professional standard radio station, multimedia computing areas, and video editing suites. Training in professional broadcasting software such as Selector is available and there are well-established links with several broadcasters. We have invested in new video production equipment with digital non-linear editing suites using a range of software including Avid Xpress, Combustion, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite.
