Adult Learner Grant (ALG) in now ONLY available to second year learners – the scheme is now closed to new learners. If your child is aged 19 years or over, studying for their first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, attends college 12 hours or more per week, and has a household income of less than £19,513 if single, couples £30,810, they may be eligible to receive ALG. Funding ranges from £10–£30 a week and is paid straight into your child's bank account. They will sign an ALG contract with the College, which sets out what is expected of your child in terms of attendance. Your child must attend all their classes in a week to receive the grant. There are normally no payments for absences. The funding available can be used to buy books and materials or help with their travel costs.
