As an FE student you could be eligible for a financial award (bursary) of £1,000 for every year of your one- or two-year
NVQ/BTEC/'A' Level course plus a further £1,000 upon completion of Army basic training. This could mean £2,000 for a student on a Level 2 BTEC Diploma course and £3,000 for a student on Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma.
It doesn’t matter which subject you are studying at college, what does matter is your commitment to completing your course and joining the Army afterwards. During your time on the scheme you will have the opportunity to attend courses and training weekends which will help prepare you for your Army career; these courses will not conflict with your college commitments.
Once you’ve successfully completed your course, you’ll be able to join the Army in a guaranteed job, subject to final checks and references. With a choice of over 140 different career options: from medicine to administration, IT to playing in an Army band, there’s more to joining the Army than you’d think.
To be eligible for the award you must be on at least a Level 2 or equivalent course.
