Who can use this service ?
Anyone who feels they would benefit from the service may use it. You don’t even have to be an existing student at college, you may just be considering whether learning is for you and want to find out more, before you decide.
Support needs can change, and we are here to help at any point during your course.
What we do:
- Offer one to one impartial guidance through which individual support needs and educational options can be explored
- Provide practical help and support to students
- Accompany potential students on tours of the College
- Regularly review student progress
- Advocacy and liaison work between students and staff
- Support to access other College services
- Provide information on self-help groups and organisations in the Nottingham area
- Offer a range of flexible courses which can be used as a stepping stone back into learning
- Give information and training on a variety of self-help techniques
- If appropriate, work with external agencies to ensure that needs are met
- Support students during exams
- Promote learners' wellbeing
How do I access support ?
Simply contact us, and we can arrange a time for an informal chat. You can be seen at any College site or even off site if you prefer. If you would like to bring someone along, that’s fine too.
Alternatively, give us a ring first if you would like to discuss it more before making an appointment.
