The College held its third annual Creative Careers Conference, to provide students with an insight into the creative industries and enhance their academic studies between 22 and 26 November at ncn City campus and Broadway Media Centre.

The event featured speeches from Nottingham artist, Jon Burgerman and Anne Whiteley, Creative Director at Bottletop, multimedia design consultancy, and a programme of tailor-made, professional master classes and presentations from industry representatives.

Classes ranged from practical logo design tips, painting, animation and button making to ‘the role of the producer’, visual merchandising and storyboarding.

Simeon Hartwig of Nottingham-based design company, Bantum Clothing, ran a T-shirt design workshop as part of the conference. He commented: “I was very impressed with the students. They were all enthusiastic and incredibly creative for their age. Events like this are great for students’ confidence and a good opportunity for them to see how the industry works.”

ncn Principal, Geoff Hall, said: “The conference reflects the ncn School of Art, Design, Fashion and Media’s drive to inspire our budding artists, designers and media enthusiasts to become entrepreneurs of the future.”
