Ready for action: the students with Business & Professional Studies Lecturers Anne
Lyons and Ellie Strickson at Skegness

Foundation Degree Business and Management students travelled to the Lincolnshire seaside town of Skegness to work on a rebranding exercise for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010 which ran from 15-21 November.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide movement of entrepreneurial people, with millions unleashing their enterprising talents and turning their ideas into reality.

The students completed their own marketing audit and will now create a marketing plan based on their findings.

Emma Woods, ncn Head of School for Business, Computing and Professional Studies, said: “The Lecturers provided a live brief to encourage their students to think creatively. The students themselves welcomed this opportunity to be innovative and enterprising, both skills that will help in future employment or self-employment.”

Student Tara Ley said: “During the visit to Skegness we spoke to locals and visitors to see what their views were. I think my plan will include ways of modernising the beach facilities and developing areas to encourage out of season tourists to visit. It was good to have to think like I would in business, with a real brief to work on.”
