Student Jade Evans presents
Maggie Falconer with the cheque
Fifty students from the School of Childcare, Social and Health Services have raised over £200 for Nottingham based charity When you wish upon a Star, whose aim is to grant the 'wishes' of children suffering from a life threatening illness.
The BTEC First Diploma Health & Social Care and Level 2 Diploma Childcare in Education students organised a number of fundraising activities at ncn Basford Hall; including cake and greetings card sales, competitions, tombola and a collection.
Maggie Falconer, When you wish upon a Star East Midlands Community Fundraiser, visited ncn Basford Hall on 20 May to receive a cheque and explain to the learners how their donation will help.
She said: “The money raised by ncn will go towards granting wishes for sick children, helping them to forget about their often painful treatments and to simply be a child for the day. As a charity we rely on donations from our supporters and we value and thank the students for their hard work and generosity.”
