Two fashion students have been shortlisted in a prestigious national clothing design competition and a further five have been ‘highly commended’.
Tamsyn Whelan (BTEC National Diploma Fashion Design) and Laura Ashley (Foundation Degree Fashion) are two of just ten finalists from across the country who will have their women’s clothing designs judged by industry professionals in the ASBCI Student Design Award 2010 on 18 May. This year’s entrants have the chance to win a share of over £4000 worth of prizes.
The students created British-themed mood boards and storyboards for the competition. The shortlisted entrants then produced two outfits to submit to competition sponsors, New Look fashion retailers.
Organised by the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry, this annual award aims to recognise innovation in design among college and university students.
