Nottingham-based company Sasie Ltd (Solar and Sustainable Installation Engineers) will be the first UK company to import new sophisticated equipment to the UK market. The range of new renewable energy training equipment from Germany will be used to train students and professionals within the industry.

A special event to demonstrate the equipment took place at ncn Basford Hall on 21 April. Jo Brown, Training Manager at Sasie Ltd gave a talk to staff and students and showcased the range of renewable energy training equipment, which included:  solar thermal and photovoltaic, air source and ground source heatpumps.

The equipment, showcased at the global solar trade fair INTERSOLAR 09 in Munich, is an advanced collection of 'training rigs' that demonstrate solar, heat pump and heat exchange technology using professional equipment.

The German manufacturing company; Christiani GmbH - already a market leader in training equipment to the engineering and the automotive industries - has turned its high-quality training approach to renewable technologies. The equipment is already familiar to students throughout Germany and can be used to train at various levels from school students, right through to professional installers within the industry.

Mo Kelly from Sasie says: “I was bowled over when I saw this stuff – it’s just what we've been waiting for to train a new generation of installers for the sector. It’s so new that the teaching manuals that accompany the equipment have only just been translated!”

A series of further demonstration events aimed at schools, universities, colleges, trade organisations, installers, sector skills councils and public sector bodies will be held at ncn Basford Hall between 25 and 27 May.
