Three ncn finalists were announced winners at the 2009 Nottinghamshire STARS awards on 14th May. The event, which was held at the Crowne Plaza hotel, recognises excellence within the Hospitality and Tourism industry.
‘Most Promising Student’ was presented to Foundation Degree Hospitality Management Student, Michael Ross and ‘Most Promising Trainee’ went to Professional Cookery Apprentice, Gurdeep Baliana. Heather Gunson was also shortlisted for ‘Most Promising Student’.
ncn’s Work Based Learning (WBL) and Train to Gain team for Catering & Hospitality took the title of ‘Best Practice in Training’, scoring full-marks during the application process.
Emma Woods, ncn Head of School for Food, Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism, commented: “This is a fantastic achievement for our learners and the WBL and Train to Gain team, it recognises the hard work and dedication shown by the students and the staff. I am extremely proud of their success.”
The annual STARS awards celebrate excellence in tourism, culture, leisure and hospitality services. They aim to raise awareness of the commitment made by staff and students in the industry and to reward them for their achievements and dedication to quality.
