Nottingham Media Academy, a collaboration between ncn, Nottingham Trent University, Confetti and Broadway Cinema & Media Centre, has been awarded with accreditation by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the Creative Media Industries.
Aiming to increase the skills and employability of creative students, The Nottingham Skillset Media Academy is now one of 22 accredited academies in the country and the only one in the East Midlands. The accreditation means that all related media courses offered by ncn are industry recognised.
The Academy is currently made up of over 3,000 students from a wide variety of backgrounds. They have access to additional educational, vocational and professional expertise and can take advantage of various opportunities within the industry, attaining different skills at a range of levels.
Past projects which the Academy have been involved with include the launch of ncn’s radio station by Channel 4 newsreader, Jon Snow.
