Hundreds of New College Nottingham (ncn) students opened their ‘A’ level results at the Trent FM Arena on 20th August. This year the pass rate for ncn High Pavement Sixth Form College is 97% - a 1% increase on last year.
Liz Leek, Curriculum Director, said: “We are extremely proud of all our ‘A’ Level students who are reaping the rewards of their hard work and determination. Most students will now progress to study at a range of universities in the UK, which include the University of Cambridge, Bristol University, Durham University and the University of Warwick.”
Among the successful students was mature student Amanda Summers, 38, who achieved the two A’s she needs to progress to study Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham.
Friends, Ruth Plackett and Louise Brown were also over the moon with their straight A grades. Ruth has been accepted at the University of Cambridge to study Social and Political Sciences and Louise is progressing to study Biological Sciences at Bristol University.
