Two ncn Floristry lecturers have become top of their profession after successfully passing the highest Floristry qualification in the country.

Catherine Hampson and Tracey White were the first florists in the UK to study for the Master Diploma in Professional Floristry Level five and are currently two out of only ten people in the country to have gained the qualification.

Tracey White comments: “We spent 18 months studying the course, travelling one weekend each month to The Welsh College of Horticulture in Northop, Wales. When we weren’t in Wales we were busy with assignments at home. It was hard work but it was all worth it in the end and we are delighted with our results. We are now really excited about passing on our knowledge to students and raising the profile of Floristry as a career.”

In recognition of their success, City & Guilds National Proficiency Tests Council (NPTC) has awarded them with the prestigious Licentiateship for Floristry - an award which recognises five years of professional development after achieving a level three qualification.
