Design students were set the challenge to create a brand new range of static designs for Caliba – a leading provider for signage, graphics and design solutions, based in Nottingham. The winners were congratulated at a special presentation evening at the Adams Restaurant & Brasserie on 12th May.
Caliba, which produces work for many leading organisations including English Heritage and the National Trust, selected the ‘Green Team’ as the overall winners. The students - Nicholas Lancashire; Katherine Kelly; Charlotte Lancaster; Carolyn Archard; and Rheannon Cummins (HND Graphics) - will now have their sign reproduced and manufactured by the company.
Caliba Director, Philip Chester, said: “It’s been an exciting project for Caliba to be involved with. I’m sure we’ve seen many new stars of the design world during this process. We are looking forward to reproducing the Green Teams’ sign unit and putting it forward to our customers.”
ncn Course Leader, Richard Johnson, commented: “The project was a great opportunity for the students. In this current economic client it is more important than ever for them to engage in live briefs as much as possible. They all approached the challenge with the right attitude and enthusiasm, which was evident in their final designs.”
