Ron Passagio introduces Pine Brook Country Club
Students from New College Nottingham have been chosen to undertake summer placements at an American Country Club for the tenth consecutive year, following a visit to the College by Ron Passagio, General Manager of Pine Brook Country Club near Boston, Massachusetts.
After a presentation to ncn Hospitality and Tourism Management students about the exclusive members club and the benefits of the summer internship programme, Ron interviewed the students individually for a select number of roles in the Guest Services department at Pine Brook.
The four successful students will depart for the USA in April 2010, where they will receive high-quality industry training and cater for private members in Pine Brook’s dining areas which include a large banqueting hall, snack bars and a grill restaurant.
Four further ncn students who completed a summer placement in 2009 plan to return to Pine Brook in 2010 to gain additional experience in the hotel and catering industry.
Alan Willis, ncn Higher Education Courses Co-ordinator said: “We are delighted to see ncn students chosen to work at Pine Brook once again. These assessed placements are a crucial part of their foundation degree qualification and give the students an opportunity to experience international service standards first-hand.”
