The third annual Construction Symposium, aimed at industry employers, university academics, industry suppliers and manufacturers, key support and funding agencies, and professional bodies, was hosted by Nottingham Construction Forum (NCF) and ncn on Wednesday 7 October at Basford Hall.

‘Innovation = Sustained Success’ was the key theme of the symposium. Presentations were delivered by five Industry experts including: Geoff Lister, Federation of Master Builders; Charles Meynell, Sustainable Construction iNet; and Mike Rainbow, Director of ARUP International.

Mervyn Brown, NCF Chairman, commented: “The 2009 Construction Symposium has rightly justified its premier place in the construction industry calendar. Support has been superb; with the event being sponsored by more than 20 supporting organisations and almost 100 industry representatives in attendance."

Claire Bicknell, Business Development Director of Smith Cooper accountants and one of the main sponsors of the event, added: "Our involvement with the Construction Symposium, in association with SAGE global computer solutions, has proved to be mutually rewarding - we are formulating plans to extend our support even further into 2010."
