The College held a business breakfast on 2 December to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships and to provide an insight into what ncn can offer businesses, along with the opportunity for networking. The ‘Apprenticeships in the Public Sector’ event took place at the Adams Restaurant & Brasserie.

Representatives from leading Nottinghamshire organisations attended the breakfast including Robert Seeney, Employer Services Manager, the National Apprenticeship Service; Patcee Francis, Project Leader – Employment and Skills, Nottingham City Council; Lloyd Murray, Business Link Adviser, Business Link East Midlands and Amanda Schofield, Director of Strategy and Partnerships, Nottingham City Homes.

ncn currently trains over 700 apprentices across a range of industries including Administration, Construction, Hospitality & Catering and Retail. A recent survey showed that the College is also the largest employer of apprentices in the Further Education sector.

Managing Director of ncn at work, Michael Motley, commented: “The business breakfast was a great success. It was a pleasure meeting our guests from the Public Sector and we had the opportunity to share our experience as an employer of apprentices and to tell the story of their progression in the organisation together with the benefits they bring.”
