An ncn Multimedia student has been named ‘Best Newcomer’ in the national Student Radio Awards 2009. Martyn Littlewood received the award at a glittering ceremony hosted by Radio 1 DJ’s on 24 November at the ‘IndigO2’, part of the O2 Arena in London.

Martyn said: “The Student Radio Awards are very well-respected in the radio industry so I’m overwhelmed to have won; it was very emotional. My course at ncn has been extremely helpful and is partially to thank for my win.”

Martyn presents the ‘Reverb’ show on Fly FM, Nottingham Trent University’s student radio station, and was presented with the Gold award in the ‘Best Newcomer Category’. His prize is the opportunity to present a slot on Galaxy fm radio.

Martyn is studying a Foundation Degree at ncn and presents the Breakfast show on ncn’s student-run radio station ADfm – The Learner Voice.
