NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy students benefited from an expert masterclass at the ncn Clarendon beauty salons on Tuesday 24th February. Sue Simpson, training manager for World Skills UK visited the College to introduce them to World Skills UK competitions and to deliver a practical session on waxing, manicure, and makeup.
Ten students spent the day learning how to develop their skills from a good level of competence towards achieving excellence in their chosen careers.
Sue Simpson commented: “The learners all participated fully in the masterclass and asked relevant questions to help them improve. The techniques they displayed during the session were very impressive and every one of them is already very employable and a credit to ncn.
I am confident that, if the students follow the feedback given and continue with the same level of dedication, they will be well-equipped to achieve excellence in their careers.”
The students have used the feedback given to help them prepare for internal competitions which determine who will represent the College at the national WorldSkills UK competitions 2009. The overall winner of these will compete in the Level 2 Beauty Therapy WorldSkills UK competition on behalf of the College.
