Conference gets creative juices flowing

ncn held its second annual Creative Careers Conference, to provide students with an overview of opportunities in the creative industries, on Thursday 26 November at Broadway Media Centre and ncn City Campus.

The event featured a keynote speech from Sarah Davenport of Davenport Design; a programme of over 50 interactive workshops, seminars and presentations delivered by industry representatives; and a ‘marketplace’ of relevant business stands.

Hundreds of students signed up to specially tailored presentations on a variety of topics including architecture, getting started as a designer and animation & special effects. Workshops ranged from origami to basket-weaving, jewellery making to designing clocks, and from pricing work to digital drawing.

Phil Myers, ncn Head of School said: “The conference was a resounding success; students were really enthusiastic and made contacts in the industry as well as learning new skills and gaining practical advice from local businesses.
