shows the students how its done
The Royal Centre Nottingham gave ncn students a taste of the wide range of jobs available behind the scenes in technical theatre and live music events on 15th October.
Whilst there, the BND Production Arts students went backstage and met a number of professionals including the stage manager of the play ‘Kes’, from The Touring Consortium. Staff members shared tricks of the trade and offered the students the chance to experience a range of ‘offstage’ career choices in the theatre industry.
Joshua Pask, 19, said: “The event was very interesting, and although I’ve always been interested in lighting and sound, it was good to find out about other options in the industry like stage management. I found it really inspirational.”
As a Founder College of The National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills, ncn is part of a network of industry specialists in theatre, opera, live music events, festivals, further education colleges and training providers working together to develop and improve skills within the industry.
As such ncn is committed to providing further education and creative careers choices to the next generation of skilled workers in offstage theatre and live music.
