Six BTEC National Diploma Design students from ncn have won prizes in a design competition set by the Boots Technical Centre. Students were set the task of creating a piece of art to reflect either the creativity of the staff at the centre, or the innovative products they create in hair, skincare, health or cosmetics.

Corey Bell, Thomas Finch, Lucy Fairholm and James Zakarian were each awarded £50 after they impressed the judges with their use of different mediums, intricate designs, colour schemes and concept designs.

Genius Mashiri and Amran Ali won the opportunity to visit Trident - a design company that generates artwork for Boots UK - to gain insight into the design industry. The pair were highly commended for their time and effort put into researching Boots products and processes.

The Boots Technical Centre will showcase all of the students’ artwork over the coming months. Carole Casswell, Formulation Technologist for Boots UK, explained: “We were very impressed with all of the ncn students’ work - not only with the quality of the outcomes, but also with the amount of research that went into their entries. We were delighted to recognise their efforts, and we look forward to displaying their work.”

All students involved received goody bags courtesy of Boots UK in recognition of their hard work.
