
Alan Johnson
Alan Johnson has joined ncn as the new Culinary Arts Co-ordinator and Assessor, based at the Adams Restaurant on Stoney Street, the Lace Market.
With 22 years’ experience within the hospitality industry, Alan was previously Head Chef at Nottingham University’s Jubilee Campus, where he catered for 600 residential students. Before this Alan worked at Café de Paris/Petit Paris Restaurant in Nottingham city centre. He has also worked for various large hotel chains including the Swallow Hotel and Queens Moat House.
“I am really looking forward to working at ncn and developing and supporting young chefs, passing on my skills and experiences and making it enjoyable in a real working kitchen/restaurant environment.” Alan comments.
ncn is a Centre of Vocational Excellence for Hospitality and Catering. Its training restaurant based at Adams has forged strong links with industry and regularly collaborate with top establishments such as Sat Bains with Rooms, Harts Restaurant and Tom Browns Brasserie.
Earlier this year, the Adams Restaurant was named regional College Restaurant of the Year 2008, making it one of the top five training restaurants in the UK.
