Day and Time

The course will run on Wednesdays or Fridays, from 9.30am - 4.15pm with a 45-minute lunch break.

Location

The course takes place at either ncn Clarendon or ncn Hucknall.

Course Description

The course focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the hairdressing industry. Designed to deliver a high level of occupational capability and provide a sound platform for progression, students will learn how to work in hairdressing, maintain health and safety in the salon, how to consult with clients for haidressing services, shampooing and conditioning of the hair and scalp, styling and dressing women's hair, design skills and hair colouring.

Prior Learning Requirement

Students will need to have an interest and enthusiasm for the subject area.

Progression

NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, Apprenticeships in Hairdressing, VRQ Diploma Level 3, Advanced Apprenticeships and Advanced 14 - 19 Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies.
