Information for Teachers

Schools Liaison Services

The Schools Liaison Team can give you information about ncn and support for you and your students.

As one of the UK's largest providers of Further Education, ncn offers a wide range of courses to suit your students' interests and abilities.

Your students can decide to study at ncn in Year 10 and 11 of their GCSE studies, learning a vocational pathway as well as continuing their academic studies at your school.

There are three options available to 14-16 year olds at ncn:

  1. Schools Outsourced Provision

These courses have been designed to give students more choice, and the opportunity to study at ncn and their current school during the week. At the end of the course, they could gain a vocational qualification as well as their GCSEs.

  2. Foundation Learning Tier

The Foundation Learning Tier is for students who find it more difficult or need more time than others to reach a Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* - C equivalent). They will be able to follow a more personalised learning programme and gain credit-based qualifications.

  3. Diplomas

These qualifications will combine class work with real hands-on work experience, giving students the skills, knowledge and opportunities to progress onto Further Education, Higher Education, or their working life.

  4. Junior Academies

The Junior Academies offer students the opportunity to try out a potential career path, both during the school year and the summer.
