Support for Students

All students at ncn are entitled to a wide range of support services that will help with issues, such as stress management, confidence, coursework, and more.

See what ncn can do for your child!

In Year 10 and 11 of their GCSE studies, your child could study at ncn, learning a vocational pathway as well as continuing their academic studies.

This is an exciting opportunity for all students -- allowing them to work towards their chosen career, meet new people and gain an extra qualification by the time they leave school.

There are three options available to 14-16 year olds at ncn:

  1. Schools Outsourced Provision

These courses have been designed to give students more choice, and the opportunity to study at ncn and their current school during the week. At the end of their course, they could gain a vocational qualification as well as their GCSEs.

  2. Foundation Learning Tier

The Foundation Learning Tier is for students who find it more difficult or need more time than others to reach a Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* - C equivalent). They are able to follow a more personalised learning programme and gain credit-based qualifications.

  3. Diplomas

These qualifications combine class work with real hands-on work experience, giving your child the skills, knowledge and opportunities to progress on to Further Education, Higher Education or their working life.

  4. Junior Academies

The Junior Academies offer your child the opportunity to try out a potential career path, both during the school year and the summer.

For more information about what ncn could provide for your child, please read the Parents' Information Pack. ncn also produces a Students' Information Pack, which is given to students on their first day.

If you have any questions, or want to discuss in further detail what ncn could do for your child, please contact the 14-19 Team or see us at one of our Open Days.
