The Diplomas are an exciting and innovative 21st Century qualification for 14 - 19 year olds and are widely recognised and valued as a mark of achievement in a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes.
Diplomas give learners the opportunity to:
- Combine classwork with real hands-on work experience - giving learners a new choice of qualification that keeps their options open
- Gain the knowledge, skills and opportunities to progress to Further Education, Higher Education or employment
- Help make choices about their future without restricting their options
In Year 10, learners will be able to study a Diploma for two years at:
- Foundation Level - Equal to five GCSEs at Grades D to G
- Higher Level - Equal to seven GCSEs at Grades A* to C
Learners can also take other qualifications, such as GCSEs, at the same time as the Diploma, increasing their skills, knowledge and employability.
