Visual Arts, Design & Fashion

ncn’s Academy of Visual Arts, Design and Fashion is the place to let your imagination run wild and your creative talents come alive.

You will work and learn alongside professional and successful artists and designers in the heart of Nottingham’s Lace Market at the Nottingham School of Art, now forming part of the city’s Creative Quarter.

Many of our former students are successful and nationally-renowned makers, designers and business owners in their own right so we’ve got a strong track record in supporting students to reach their full potential. All our students enjoy the use of our six storey former lace mill dedicated to art and design, including six extensive studio spaces, a print room, photographic dark room and studio, 3D workshops, a ceramics workshop and industry-standard digital facilities.  The ncn Nottingham School of Art is a great place to see work by established artists, craftspeople and designers, and to exhibit your own work too.

Our end of year static shows are the focus of our art and design courses, encouraging you to develop and present your work to the highest standard.  Our amazing fashion shows allow you to exhibit your work to talent scouts and industry experts – a great reward for the hard work you put in.

Most of our art, design and fashion courses are validated by the University of the Arts London (UAL). ncn has a close working relationship with UAL, with students regularly progressing to study there as well as other prestigious universities across the country.

Our great reputation in this field has helped us achieve Artsmark Gold status – recognising our engagement with employers in the industry, which helps our students prosper in and out of the classroom.
