Exams for Private/External Candidates

New College Nottingham's offering examination service for private/external candidates

New College Nottingham (ncn) is now offering an exam-only service for private and external candidates. We accept candidates interested in taking on-screen and paper-based written exams.

Please note that we cannot accept candidates for coursework, performance, oral and practical units or written exams linked to practical units such as GCSE or 'A' Level Science ISAs. If you are unsure if your exam qualifies, please contact our Exams team by completing an enquiry form

This exam-only service does not include access to ncn resources such as LRCs, tuition sessions and additional learning support. If you previously received learning support and had an exam entitlement, this will not be put in place for you as an external candidate.

Examination Fees for Private/External Candidates

Examination type Fee
'A' Levels £80 per 'A' Level unit (e.g. 4 'A' Level units will cost 4 x £80 = £320)
