We offer a range of full-time and part-time courses in retail, floristry, customer service, management and team leading, laundry and dry cleaning, logistics, warehousing, storage operations, security, business administration and road passenger carrying vehicle driving (taxi).
Retail within the East Midlands employs approximately 10% of the workforce, and is a major source of regional development and regeneration. Our full-time and part-time retail, floristry and commercial enterprise courses are designed to meet the vocationally-relevant training and development needs of the wide range of employees and employers within the industry.
Our retail and commercial enterprise courses are based at ncn City (Adams) and FutureStore, with many including work placements, enabling our learners to experience the many facets of the industry in a realistic working environment. Our Apprenticeships give students the opportunity to train off-site in the workplace, supported by a workplace tutor/assessor who visits regularly.
Our floristry courses are based at ncn Hucknall in large specialist workshops. Students take part in national competitions and are frequently invited to design and produce seasonal floral displays for special events inside and outside the College.
New College Nottingham is a member of the National Skills Academy (NSA) for Retail and has been awarded a prestigious Training Quality Standard (TQS) Part B accreditation in recognition of its excellent work with employers and for its industry sector expertise in retail. The College is also the lead training partner of FutureStore, a retail skills shop in Broadmarsh shopping centre.
