Welcome to the Faculty of Fashion and Media...
Fashion courses are held in the historic Adams Building (ncn City), a converted lace mill with excellent facilities, including well-lit, spacious fashion studios with a large variety of resources to support all our learners.
Our fantastic reputation has been built over many years, having won numerous awards locally, nationally and internationally. Marcus Wernitznig, who came to ncn to study Fashion, won gold at the WorldSkills UK Made to Measure fashion design competition – part of the largest vocational skills competition in the world.
Every year our ever-popular fashion shows give you the opportunity to showcase and celebrate your collections. Often attended by the press and industry professionals, these events give you the chance to experience a real fashion show in front of a sellout audience.
At ncn City (Adams), Media and i-Media students have access to a three-camera television studio, a multiple studio radio station, and plenty of multimedia computing areas.
Training is provided in professional software such as Selector, Avid, Adobe and Autodesk. We have invested in digital editing hardware and software, and have a range of both moving image and still image digital camera equipment for students to use.
There are plenty of spacious, well-lit workspaces, 3D workshops, a photographic studio and darkrooms, printmaking facilities and an impressive gallery space.
During your course, you’ll have opportunities to work on a host of projects, some within the College and others linked to local businesses and charities. You‘ll also have the chance to enter regional and national competitions. These will allow you to showcase your work, express your creativity, hone your skills and gain invaluable feedback from industry
experts.
